With the passing of one year and the start of another, it’s common to look back introspectively and then look ahead, re-evaluating our perspectives and perhaps metaphorically hitting a reset button. For some that idea can seem a bit daunting. I admit it can be for me however I try to focus on how cleansing starting anew can be …
I wrote ‘Tomorrow’s Light’ in view of these many mixed emotions we feel as humans – fear, vulnerability, strength. What we can be to other people and what we can be to ourselves.
With influences ranging from Alice in Wonderland to the 13th-century poet Rumi, these four solo piano pieces offer a moment of intimacy and calm. Stripping back the complex layers, ‘Tomorrow’s Light’ is based on sentimental reflection, yet looks forward to reconnecting and stepping into new territories.
I hope you enjoy a little introspection and solitude while listening.
